Finding the idea

With over 30 years of varied and extensive creative, marketing, and communications experience, and more than eight years of interactive, I’ve stayed true to one belief – it’s all about the idea. The communications/brand idea is most important – because if it is truly an idea it will connect emotionally with the consumers, translate across all platforms and media, have legs and move the brand forward.

I’m always looking for new and innovative vehicles to communicate advertising/communication ideas. This is not “video killed the radio star” in that there will always be traditional media but brands are looking for unique ways to engage. I’ve found that one of the most effective media is people – connect and they become your prime salespeople and brand ambassadors.

In my experience working in the world of interactive and digital, I’ve served as a CD/Writer and administrator, worked on website architecture, design, content, banner ads, blasts, social media and other 2.0 communications campaigns.

I’ve also spent years (and continue to) developing print, radio, broadcast, direct, B2B, and promotional advertising. I participate in web-sodes, theme and icon development, product/package/logo design and back-stories. I’ve headed both external and internal campaigns.

I look at creative ways to communicate and develop everything from partnerships, out-licensing, guerilla marketing, brand identities, live events, and alternative media etc., engaging the consumer at every possible touch-point; truly, 360 integrated relationship marketing across different platforms and media.

Before all of this I was a jazz musician.
